FAWM 2016

February Album Writing Month (FAWM) 2016 is almost here! I don’t have a concept for my album this year, but I do have some ideas and goals.

  • Incorporate my violin in my (typically all electronic) music
  • Explore different composition approaches. Focus more on the notes than the sounds. (Originally I was going to compose everything first and then perform it, but after a few experiments I felt like this was going to be too frustrating/time consuming, so I backed off on the goal a little bit).

I think it should be an interesting challenge. Feel free to follow my progress here on my blog, or on my FAWM page:

As sort of a proof of concept, here’s a demo of some ambient music heavily featuring my (heavily processed) violin.

Here’s a rough idea what my setup looks like.
