Yellowwood Lake Kayaking

Tuesday, July 25th, 2017

We decided to try kayaking out at Yellowwood Lake, one of our favorite local lakes, which we had never seen from a boat.

Due to the heat, we waited until evening to go, and a gorgeous evening it was.

We went and explored a narrow inlet for a bit …

… before heading out on to the more open part of the lake.

The insect and frog sounds were amazing, and we saw several turtles swimming just below the surface of the water … and a few basking above the water.

Gradually, the sun set as we made our way around the lake …

… until it was nearly completely dark. It was quite dark by the time we returned to the boat dock where we’d started, a beautiful end to a beautiful evening.
