Hiking the Pine Loop at Brown County State Park

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

After work on Friday, Sarah and I wanted to go for a hike. It had to be fairly short, to finish before dark — though we are thinking about doing a night hike sometime soon, we didn’t want to that night. So, we went out to Brown County State Park and hiked the newest mountain bike trail there, the Pine Loop. I took my DSLR to get some shots of this trail. It’s possibly the easiest trail there, but still has some climbing, and the whole thing has great flow. I figured it would make for a great hike as well, and it did.

We had had a lot of wind and rain in the past few days, and a lot of the leaves fell. Some still remained, and some trees were quite colorful, while others were completely bare.

Here is a map, and a few shots from our hike.

The trail has a few cedar bridges, which are beautifully built and smell wonderful.

It’s good to take advantage of an opportunity like that. It won’t be long until anything after work is in the dark.
