Another Back Mountain ride

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

On Thursday, I did another ride on the Back Mountain Trail. Near the end of the trail, I rode through a residential area, as far up the mountain as I could go, and got some great views of the surrounding area. Not much commentary except it was a beautiful evening for a ride, and I sure found some stunning scenery.

how long is the trail? looks like alot of fun, sort of like Doug’s Mungo trail in MN. ‘course, it may be only be 1m. glad you’re having fun in the new surroundings.

That Back Mountain Trail may serve as a good ride through the winter – anything less than 2 inches of snow might be rideable with that gravel base. Nice find – beautiful trail!

Tim: it’s funny you say that, because I’ve thought the same thing: some of the terrain here reminds me of some of the photos Doug posts on his blog. Unfortunately, the Back Mountain Trail is only 2.5 miles right now, although I believe there’s talk of extending it to 10 miles or so.

Dave: indeed, this would be a great place for some winter riding!
