I remember having similar experiences while running when I was younger. I'd be running through the mist, down a trail and through some woods, not really noticing how much the mist was building up, confusing sweat and dew on my body. Soon enough, I was getting soaked through, but it felt good against the skin as I would continue. By the time I was done, I should have been drenched in sweat, but instead I felt good as the cool water ran down my skin.

It almost makes me want to get out there again, bad back and all.

David: thanks! I do have a light but not a very powerful one, alas. That does add a nice touch to the image.

I sometimes like riding in rain, but usually it's sort of a hassle. When I don't worry so much about the fact that I'm going to get wet, it can be fun, if it's warm enough.

I've got fenders already, but I think I'll add some kind of makeshift mudflaps, using a soda or milk bottle, or something. The fenders don't go low enough to keep water from splashing up on my ankles.

That is a phenomenal image... the swirling of mist behind you like the vortices off the wings of planes in high G maneuvers. Combine that with a high powered LED headlight slicing through the mist out front, and that's worthy of a painting.

Rain is my favorite weather to ride in. It was with no small amount of disappointment that errands forced me to drive yesterday.

As for the mud flaps... yes. Even Noah acquiesced and installed them. I wouldn't go out without them on my commuter. They're almost as crucial as my Edge.
