January, 2008 cycling recap

Friday, February 1st, 2008

I rode 200.08 miles in January. That’s a little better than I did in December, but otherwise my lowest mileage since last February, when I got my road bike. Here’s how the mileage broke down:

Commute: 80
Errands: 1
Road: 109.68
Mountain: 9.4

That’s pretty weak, but it could have been worse. I only drove to work a couple of times when there was rain. Hopefully February will be better.

Dude, that’s not weak at all. One thing that annoys me: first it was all “ooh, how come no one ever rides to work? people who ride to work rock” then it was all “man, people who stop riding the second it gets cold suck” and now you’re all “I rode a mere TWO HUNDRED FUCKING MILES in Januray. I suck.” GEZUS. Get a hold of your understandings. That is awesome. Maybe your point is me saying that. We think you rock. You does. Now stop whining. Hmph. Oh, by the way, I love you. And this is good beer. STill, stop whining.

Winters are very chancy for riding. For fitness I have two other activities that I really like. Racquetball and kick boxing. If you saw the members of the kick boxing group, you would know why it’s a high priority for me. The name of the class could also be called “oogling” 8>)

200 miles is weak? That is more mileage that some people complete in the middle of summer. I’m impressed by that number and I’m sure I’m not alone.

That’s okay – I rode 0.08 miles in January, if you include the sliding down the icy street one day. You’re almost half a Nascar race in front of me!
