FAWM Practice Session #1

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

FAWM is February Album Writing Month, the goal being to write an album in the month of February.

I’ve been antsy about getting started, so I figured I’d do some practice. Usually, I don’t write a song in a day or so — it generally takes months — so this is quite a stretch. I also needed to practice with my new keyboard (M-Audio Keystation 61es), which Sarah got me for Christmas, and learn more about my Evolver synth. Obviously, this can’t count towards my album, since it’s not February yet.

This is definitely not what I’d consider a finished track, but it’s pretty decent considering how little time I spent on it, I think. You can find the song on my DMusic page.

I’ve been going through a lot of shit lately, but had a great weekend, the best in over a month. So the song is a bit upbeat, but also dark.
